WIAW #3: sick eats
sorry to be such a downer with my wednesday posts lately. last week was all about comfort food and, while I feel a lot better emotionally, I feel like absolute crap physically! woke up monday with the worst headache, sore throat, fever and just all around dizzy, yucky feeling.
but just like being sad isn't an excuse to relapse, neither is being sick. even when your appetite is gone or you barely want to get out of bed or it's just plain hard, you have to push to meet minimums.
eating isn't an option. in fact, eating is almost MORE important when you're sick because your body needs to restore itself and heal. you need to fuel your immune system so you can get better.
so with that, here's my day of eats while sick. and here's to hoping I feel better before my date tomorrow!
breakfast: a cup of oatmeal with Justin's vanilla nut butter packet and strawberries. plus lots of coffee of course! this was my first time ever mixing nut butter into my oatmeal and OMG WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING WITH MY LIFE?!? seriously heaven.
lunch: the best cure for any sickness is always soup! one of my favorites is this broccoli cheddar from Panera. plus their baguettes get me every time and that cookie was so delicious!
snack: greek yogurt with granola. I usually don't like yogurt but when you throw in a bunch of granola, i'm a-ok with it! not to mention I think yogurt is good for your immune system? that's what I tell myself at least!
dinner: leftover papa john's pizza. I was so glad I had leftovers from the night before because no way do I ever feel like cooking when I'm sick. had these cheesy delicious slices with some veggies and pineapple.
